*STICKY* – Changes…

This site is currently undergoing some changes, so expect it to change and flux almost daily.

I’m migrating from Serendipity to Wordpress as my main blog. I’ve gotten sort of tired of s9y over time, and WP has a really decent plugin to embed G2 within the blog.

In the meantime, since there’s no direct link untill I start fiddling w/ the templates/themes, you can get to the gallery here

Please add comments to this post with any feedback, etc regarding the changes. Shya, as if anyone cares or actually reads this page! hah! =)

The weight experiments

So, I’ve got a gut.  A big chubby tummy that overhangs my belt, and looks especially humerous given my admittedly slight build.

About a month ago, as spring sprung and summer was on the horizon, I decided I’d try a little experiment to reduce said glut.

I’ve completely stopped consuming all fast food and soda.  No soda, not at all.

It’s worked.  After the last month, I’m down about 13lbs.  Pretty cool!  A coworker today actually commented that he noticed I was looking a bit slimmer.

Good stuff.  I’m not following any specific diet or methodology – just attempting to reduce the amount of food I eat (portion control), and making sure I don’t eat absolute shit (read: McDonalds).  I’m also, where convenient and feasible, eating lo-fat/no-fat foods.  no-fat ranch and cottage cheese are awesome little snacks.  Lots of fruit too.

And how’s that saying go?  Oh yea, If I can do it, you can do it! *rollseyes*

Great little html/hex color code generator tool thingie

Oh how long it’s been

Well, I’ve done a super job of actually using my li’l corner of the web here. Too long w/ no updates, though I doubt anybody is really paying attention!

Few more ski days near the end of the season that I didn’t record – think it was a taos day, and two wolf creek day trips (pow!), and one last day in Co at abay w/ Chris, May 27 to be exact. Not a bad season – end of October to end of May.

Finished the fence work in the backyard, looks absolutely gorgeous. Look for pictures soon.

In the next week or so I’ll start staking out the borders of the deck and formulating a plan, design, and budget. Hopefully Sheila’s pocketbook will be up to the task – I think that, though it’ll be a ton of work, it’ll be a good experience, and definately cool to have the deck.

Hanna left for Sweden today, she’s gone most of the summer, back late august methinks. Going to be wierd with her gone, I’ll miss her smiley face for sure.

Not a whole lot else going on. Chris got a job w/ USOC in CoSpgs, and hopefully will have an open position he’ll get to hire for within the next year sometime. Who knows, if that doesn’t transpire by the beginning of ski season, I may start actively looking for a job there anyhow.

A76 stuff at work is moving along, nobody really knows what’s going on, and the place is as frustrating and back-asswards as ever. I don’t expect that to change any time soon.

Oh, and apparantly powweb is migrating my site to their new hosting platform early next week. Very curious to see how things change and what new features are present.

That’s all for now. Have some updates coming to ski days calendar, and need to clean up the web dirs before migration. Probably have some more pics to dump into the gallery as well. ‘Til then….

Land of Cleves and other rants

Boy, I just really don’t like Cleveland much any more. Funny what a few months in mild sunny weather will do for ya!

Spent the last week or so out in flatland with the family and Ms Erin. Was really great to be back for the family/friends aspect, as I miss them all terribly, but the city itself and being back in Ohio just really really sapped me.

Cousin Tammy’s wedding was last saturday, a good time was had by all. Good people, good food, good times. She seemed super happy, and not too stressed like I’ve seen at other weddings. Good stuff, and got to spend some time with the other cousins which was really cool.

Also got to spend some time w/ Randy and Emily on Sunday, and the new baby who’s name is Kalia – she’s gorgeous, and so tiny!

Not much else to the trip…Turned everyone on to some tasty green chile, and had a really nice fondue dinner w/ Mom, Sis, and Erin. Had a few way to drunken evenings, and found a really nice cognac called Navan that’s made from black vanilla orchids…mmm mmm good!

All in all a great trip, but I am glad to be back out west again in what is now home.

And, there’s tons of snow falling in CO! Though, not much here yet, but both SF and Taos I believe are trying to open for T-day. We’ll see. In the meantime, I might just have to schlep myself back up to summit county…3 feet out of the last storm and hasn’t stopped falling yet…Should have my gear back from the Bootdoctors saturday morning…We’ll see!
